  1. Why do I need to pay a deposit to open an electricity account?

Since customers pay after using electricity, the company needs to collect a deposit as a security deposit for the account. This deposit will be used to offset any outstanding charges when your account is terminated. According to our company's "Electricity Regulations", the deposit amount will not exceed the maximum electricity fee for 60 days.

  2. How is the deposit amount determined?

CLP may from time to time require customers to pay one or more deposits before or after supply of electricity to serve as security for payment of electricity charges required for that account. The amount of the deposit is determined by CLP based on the account's electricity consumption and will generally not exceed the account's expected maximum electricity bill within a 60-day period.

For newly opened accounts, since there is no actual electricity consumption as a reference, we will preliminarily determine the deposit amount based on the building area reported by the customer when applying for electricity. However, the amount will be reviewed from time to time based on the actual electricity usage of the account in the future.

Automatic inflation can save less deposit
